Internships

Journalism and Media Production internships provides students with hands-on experience at company or organization (specifically a mass media outlet or public relations setting) where students are able to use the skills learned in the classroom in a supervised, professional environment. Students work as writers, reporters, editors, public relations practitioners, convergent media specialists, and photojournalists at newspapers, magazines, agencies, corporations, nonprofit entities, and other media outlets.

Scholarships

The Department offers several scholarships that are available only to our majors and minors. If you are majoring or minoring in Journalism or Media Production and qualify for work-study through the Financial Aid Office, you are encouraged to apply for available positions within the Department. Before submitting your application, please take the time to read the job descriptions and responsibilities carefully to ensure a good fit for your skills and interests.

Media Studio Technician

The Media Student Technician will be tasked with helping operate and maintain the studios. In addition, they will be integral to students, faculty, and staff using the space to learn, practice, and create media. This position will also be tasked to maintain the equipment room and check in/out gear to students.
